The volume examines the multiple trajectories of Soviet and socialist architecture, highlighting their transnational scope as well as the tensions shaping the relationship between ideological frameworks, technical practices, and the processes and effects of knowledge circulation.
Through contributions by scholars and doctoral researchers, the book seeks to convey the complexity of this landscape, in which the Soviet model serves as a reference but does not exhaust the plurality of socialist experiences, revealing exchanges, adaptations, and contradictions that transcend the geographical and political boundaries of the USSR.

Il volume prende in esame le molteplici traiettorie dell'architettura sovietica e socialista, evidenziandone la portata transnazionale, nonché le tensioni che animano il rapporto tra la dimensione ideologica, pratiche tecniche, processi ed effetti della circolazione di saperi e conoscenze. Attraverso contributi di studiosi e ricerche dottorali, il libro cerca di restituire la complessità di questo panorama, dove il modello sovietico agisce come riferimento ma non esaurisce la pluralità delle esperienze socialiste, rivelando scambi, adattamenti e contraddizioni che superano i confini geografici e politici dell'URSS.
