Beschreibung
This volume explores the historical, urbanistic, and economic dynamics of ancient Tripolitania between the 1st century BC and the 4th century AD. Through detailed stratigraphic analyses of urban contexts, particularly in Sabratha and Leptis Magna, the research examines the profound impact of geopolitical shifts under Roman expansion and recurring seismic events. Special emphasis is placed on ceramic evidence—ranging from black-gloss ware and local imitations to Eastern Sigillata A and Punic amphorae—which highlights vibrant, enduring Mediterranean trade networks. Ultimately, the work delineates the structural transition from the commercial independence of the Punic emporia to the integrated yet ultimately transformed imperial economy of late antiquity.
