An examination of seventh-century BCE Italo-Geometric and late sixth- to early fifth-century BCE Attic black-figure pottery from the Spinelli Collection at the National Museum of Naples reveals key insights into regional production, cultural transmission, and historical collection changes. Analysis of 43 extant Attic black-figure vessels demonstrates how earlier warfare occupations led to the looting and dispersal of significant pieces, including the division of a documented 12-vase tomb context. The geometric assemblage highlights a distinct inland Campanian workshop tradition flourishing between 650 and 625 BCE around Capua, Suessula, Nola, and Cales. Morphological and decorative characteristics—such as repeating register schemes, bird and animal motifs, and geometric fillers—evince local adaptations of late Euboean and Protocorinthian prototypes mediated via Pithekoussai and Pithekoussan-influenced workshops. Catalogue documentation attributes specific Attic black-figure works to the Manner of the Louvre F 6 Painter, Group E, and the Diosphos Painter, underscoring artistic influences and regional import dynamics in archaic Campania.
