Descrizione
Established in 1950 to highlight Italian archaeological research in Libya, this prestigious publication series resumed in December 2018 with issue no. 21 (the first of the new series). It provides a high-level scientific platform for scholars focusing on the archaeology and history of Libya and the broader Maghreb. Featuring articles in major European languages—all accompanied by English abstracts—the volumes now also include Arabic abstracts and illustrated back covers, thanks to close cooperation with the Libyan Department of Antiquities.
The revamped format adopts a multidisciplinary approach, expanding its scope beyond traditional archaeology to incorporate epigraphy, ancient and colonial history, history of archaeology, landscape history, archival documentation, digital resources, and cultural heritage management and conservation. Furthermore, the geographical focus extends across the Maghreb, fostering international exchange and cooperation on shared historical and contemporary research themes.
