The journal, founded in 1990, focuses on the history of the Western Greeks through all useful tools to analyze their politics, society, and cultural life across the broadest disciplinary domains, such as historiography, archaeology, philosophy, and the history of religions. Starting in 2019 (Hesperìa, 35), an annual periodical series and a monographic series coexist and run parallel to each other. Hesperìa adopts a peer-review system.
